• 100 Days of Good Karma: Day 2 (Organizing the Craft Cabinet)

This does not even remotely resemble my house. In fact, despite the colorful walls, and well placed soccer boll, I don't believe this house has children in it.

This is not my house. This does not even remotely resemble my house. In fact, despite the colorful walls and strategically placed soccer ball, I don’t believe children have ever set foot in this house.

Day 2 of 100 Days of Good Karma.

Today’s silver lining: an audio book and a super cluttered craft cabinet.

I handle the ups and downs of a major crisis better if I keep busy.  If I stop, I think and right now, I’m declaring thinking off-limits.

Luckily, thanks to my children, there is always something in my house I can declutter.

My kids have a craft cabinet that holds Play-Doh, markers, crayons, colored pencils, coloring books, activity books, paints, beads, string, sketch pads, you name it. Due to the nature of this cabinet, I have to clean this thing out once every few months or I end up with art work piling up on my counter and spilling out onto my kitchen floor.

So I spent the day going through the cabinet and listening to Stephen King’s new book, Mr. Mercedes, using the Audible.com app on my phone.

Stephen King? You might ask. At a time like this?

    Absolutely.  Want to know why?

Because no matter how bad my day is going, the characters in a Stephen King novel are guaranteed to have it worse.

What’s your silver lining today?  I love comments.

{A} Hello, she knows how to handle monsters she just gave you a hint. “STEPHEN KING”
{B} So naturally this monster should prepare it’s self. Cause she is going to mangle you and walk away like reading the last chapter of a STEPHEN KING NOVEL!!!!!
    • We love you, and will totally be shooting some prayers your way.

Today my 2 sons, my brother-in-law, and I dove in the Pacific off the coast of La Jolla. I was quite nervous because this is where the Great Whites live by God! Once we submerged, I relaxed and we had a great dive. We swam with sea lions, ghirabaldi, and spiny lobsters. I can’t think of a better way to spend my day than diving with both of my sons. And, my 14 year old just got his open water certification last week and is already diving in the Pacific. How awesome is that? It’s days like today that show me how important it is we spend as much time as possible with those we love. What a great day!
