Day 34 of 100 Days of Good Karma.

The kids and I ran errands.

Well, actually, I had to find the kids first.  I hunted everywhere for Connor, and then I heard a tiny giggle coming from a tiny hiding place.

Thanks to the photography class I’m taking, I have my camera with me all the time.

A little hiding place for a little person.

A little hiding place for a little person.

After I found the kids, one of our errands was returning library books.

I’ve been looking for a reason to use the notebook you see at the top of this page.  It’s too pretty for just making To Do lists.

This notebook was a kind gift to me, so I wanted to find a way to use it to give kindness back.

And then I read about the Kindness Drop.

So I wrote kind and encouraging notes on the pages of the notebook.  Then I tore the pages out and stuck a Kindness Gift in each library book.

I hope these tiny gifts put a smile on someone’s face.  Writing them put a smile on mine.

Today’s silver lining:  It felt good to do something nice just because.

The world can always use more kindness, don’t you think?

What’s your silver lining today?  I love comments!

  1. That is the cutest idea but I use a Nook to read books so its hard to put a kind note!!! 🙂 🙂

You don’t have to leave the notes in books. You can leave them tucked under a cup in a coffee shop. Or a in a magazine in a waiting room. Or on your table at a restaurant. Anywhere. Just another way to make people smile. 🙂

I found these cute little note pads with a header that reads :”What people need is a good listening to” – I use them for everything, a lot of the time I just tear one off and hand it to someone – folks look at them and go “yeah..” – everyone appreciates being listened to and they just sort of work as a reminder to pay attention to each other.
I found them in a shop in Homer AK – the back of the pad says “Primitives by Kathy Inc” Lancaster, PA

Valerie, you’re right. Most of the time, people just need to be feel heard, or feel special. That’s why I like the kindness drop idea. Your notes sound like a perfect kindness gift!
