Day 56 of 100 Days of Good Karma.

    {I needed to write a blog post.  So I grabbed my notebook and a pen.  And the argument started.}

I don’t like the marks this pen makes.

    (Go find a new pen.)

    Okay.  Got a new pen.

    Now.  Now I can write.

But what’s happening on Facebook?  And I never replied to that email.

(Put your phone down.  You can look at it later.  Write.)

I should read the news.  It’s important to be caught up on world events.

(Put your phone away.  Far away.)

    Wait, who just texted me?

    (Turn the phone OFF.)

But there’s so much laundry to do.  I should do that.  Now.

    (No.  It can wait.)

I should go clean my closet.  Now.  Right now.

(Write a page.  Then you can clean.)

Which dangly earrings look best with a shaved head?

I should try on every pair of earrings I own.  No, wait.  I should go buy more earrings.

Just grab my keys, hop in the car.  I can be back in twenty minutes.

    Well, maybe an hour.

    But I’ll write after that.

    (Sit.  Down.  Write.)

    I should start dinner.

    (It’s only 3:30.)

I should rearrange the living room.

    (Sigh.)

I should read books with the kids.

(Ooohhh.  You played the guilt card.  Now that’s just mean.)

    Okay.  Okay.   Sorry.

    But I need a snack.

    And a cup of tea.

(*tapping foot*  Are you happy now?  We have things to do here.)

    Yes.  Now I can write.

Today’s silver lining:  I finished this blog post.

(You were going to clean your closet.)

    Meh.  I’ll do it tomorrow.

What’s your silver lining today?  I love comments!

    xoxo,
    Meghan

I want to clean the closet! Wait for me! Um…what I meant is you can use me as an excuse to wait and clean your closet. 😉

That sounds like an awful lot of my days this year. So many days I have sat here in my nice comfy chair resting and thought, “but I should do XXXX, no wait, I need to do XXXX first, oh man, I forgot to do XXXX…” You get the drift. You KNOW the drift. When you don’t feel great, it’s hard to do the things you want to do much less the things you have to do. My silver lining today is YOU! We are all different, unique and yet one in the same. And we fight the same battles in getting stuff done! And although every one of us has some sort of life battle, yours is extraordinary and you keep on going every day!! Luv ya!
