Run/ Walk/ Bike/ Elliptical (Today: 4.00 miles; Running Total: 170.94 miles)
Day 215 of *Another* 100 Days of Good Karma.
I sweet talked my friend Mindy into staying in Texas an extra couple of days. Secretly I think she didn’t need much sweet talking, but I know Mindy. She likes being courted.
After Mindy changed her flight we went for a walk.
It was a beautiful day, and I’d just gotten my way with Mindy extending her trip (getting my way always makes me feel pretty spunky) so I opted for my ‘long’ route.
I have several regular trails and my ‘long’ route runs about 3.5 miles, a good portion of it along a nice shady trail.
Mindy and I reached the trail head and discovered the path was under water so we back tracked to another entrance to the trail. Turns out that part was under water, too. We back tracked again and used a third entrance to the path, finally finding a way that wasn’t water logged.
With all the back tracking and going around we ended up doing four miles instead of the planned 3.5. Also, at one point along our four miles I had to jog across a road because cars were coming. I only took a few steps but the feeling in my right breast and arm were enough to convince me that I’m not ready to run yet.
Walking four miles is apparently my limit. I was worn out for the rest of the day.
I knew I’d pushed it too far when I woke up tired from a nap. The muscle over my newly formed right breast and under my right arm was complaining loudly enough that I opted for a muscle relaxer.
Mindy made dinner and I took it easy for the rest of the day. She made homemade spaghetti sauce with garlic bread and a side salad. She’s easily the best Italian cook who has ever graced my kitchen.
Today’s silver lining: Finding one’s limits.
I like finding my limits. It gives me a goal to break later.
What’s your silver lining today? I love comments!
