Run/ Walk/ Bike/ Elliptical (Today: 0.00 miles; Running Total: 188.73 miles)
Day 233 of *Another* 100 Days of Good Karma.
The kids and I drove home from my brother-in-law and sister-in-law’s house. I’m not used to staying up as late as I did on Saturday (by ‘late’ I mean anytime past 8:30). They only live about an hour away, but after a long night that hour drive seemed very long so I took a nap.
When I got up I didn’t feel like doing much. The beauty of Sundays? Not doing much is what you’re supposed to do. And staying in pajamas is mandatory.
We didn’t move fast. We had no set goals for the day. We just … puttered.
Justin fertilized the lawn and fixed a faucet. I cleaned the kitchen and made the kids clean their room (for which I was informed that I am the meanest Mommy in the history of ever).
Later we had a family movie night on the couch. The kids jockeyed over the best places to sit on the couch.
Hannah wanted to sit beside both Justin and I, but that’s normally Connor’s spot on the couch. I offered her the middle of the couch, but then she’d have to sit by Connor.
“Uh, never mind. I’ll sit here,” she said, and plopped down on the end of the couch beside me.
I can’t say I blame her. Connor has yet to master sitting still. He’ll bounce his leg and have to be reminded twenty times to be quiet for the movie. Since these are Justin’s genes at work I think it’s only fair that Connor sits next to daddy.
Today’s silver lining: A quiet, puttering Sunday at home.
The best kind.
What’s your silver lining today? I love comments!
