Day 239 of *Another* 100 Days of Good Karma.
Hannah and I had a girls’ day. I took her to a nail salon in our area. I’d heard good things about this place and I wasn’t disappointed.
Hannah got zebra stripes painted on her fingers. I got a pedicure. Something I haven’t had since last summer. I wasn’t allowed to have pedicures or manicures during chemotherapy because of the risk of infection. And then came surgery and there just hasn’t been time for such luxury. Until now. And it was amazing.
There was no nail salon smell when we walked in or for the whole time we were there. All of the supplies used on us were opened from sealed packages and they were cleaning the foot bath before we even left.
This place was anal about cleanliness. A quality I appreciate in a nail salon.
After the salon we went to Hannah’s favorite clothing store. She had a gift card she wanted to spend, so I let her pick out a new pair of shoes and a set of pajamas.
We were both starving so we grabbed lunch on the way home. While we waited for our food Hannah told me, “I like girls’ day.”
I held my hand out and she intertwined her fingers with mine. “Yup. Me, too.”
Today’s silver lining: A day spent with my favorite girl.
What’s your silver lining today? I love comments!
