Run/ Walk/ Bike/ Elliptical (Today: 0.00 miles; Running Total: 210.29 miles)
Day 253 of *Another* 100 Days of Good Karma.
I worked out in the living room. I did the boot camp workout from Tuesday. Hannah gave me hell from the sidelines for the breakfast I ate before working out.
“Maybe you shoulda had somethin’ healthy, hmm? Don’t feel good, do ya?” she said. She sat coloring at the dining room table while I sweated my ass off just a few feet away.
“No,” I said flatly. I was on my second round of burpees and talking was a luxury I couldn’t afford.
“Shouldn’t have had those cinnamon rolls, huh?”
I finished the round and bent over with my hands on my knees. “You . . . get over here . . . and do it,” I said in between breaths.
She rolled her eyes and said, “I’m not the one who ate cinnamon rolls.”
I hate when she’s right.
Connor was more amenable. He joined me for the workout doing pushups and squats next to me on the mat. He even took his shirt off so he could be like the ‘coach’ in the video. That’s my boy.
For lunch we went out for crawfish. Between Hannah, Justin and I we ate ten pounds. I wish we’d have taken Mindy to this place when she came to visit. That’s good stuff.
Justin and I are dog-sitting for a friend who went out of town for the weekend. Meet Pugsley and Wednesday, two five month old pug puppies. I don’t know who’s having more fun with them, Tilley or the kids.
Pugsley was a little more timid than Wednesday. Tilley seemed to know this and played more gently with him. After a while Pugsley started teasing Tilley and got more comfortable.
The Houston area was under a flash flood watch warning and it rained buckets all day. My backyard is now a swimming pool. Not that this stopped anyone from going outside. Hannah, Connor and all three dogs splashed through puddles, Tilley shepherding the puppies around the yard.
I wouldn’t eat off my kitchen floor right now. It’s covered in water and wet dog hair, but I think fun was had by all.
If you ever need a happiness boost get yourself an armful of squirming puppy. Instant smile.
Today’s silver lining: A rainy Saturday never stopped anyone from having fun.
What’s your silver lining today? I love comments!
