    Run/ Walk/ Bike/ Elliptical (Today:  3.12 miles;  Running Total: 241.03 miles)

Day 276 of *Another* 100 Days of Good Karma.

Today’s run: Run 5 min, walk 3 min, run 8 min, walk 3 min, repeat. I did that twice. I was pretty proud of myself.

My radiation appointments are much shorter now that the treatment is focusing on where the tumors used to be. The appointment used to take twenty five to thirty minutes. Now I’m out of there in fifteen minutes.

Radiation has given me back a daily routine.  It has forced me to manage my time in the mornings. They run the radiation treatment schedule pretty tight, so I can’t be late or I have to move treatment to later in the day.

    Enter my morning routine.

I get up before the kids to have coffee and write my blog post in a quiet house. After I finish my blog post I get the kids ready for school. Once I’ve dropped them off I come home to eat breakfast and workout. I go to my radiation appointment then come home for a nap. By then, I’m worn out and I need one.

Having a morning routine again was a definite silver lining to radiation. I know what to do and when. It has given my days purpose and direction.

However, the burns from radiation hurt and treatment wears me out. I’m glad it’s ending. It’s been a long, long nine months. I’m ready for a new routine. One, I hope, that centers on healing and not cancer treatment.

    Today’s silver lining: Two more.

What’s your silver lining today?  I love comments!
